Leamon Ray Smith, son of William Edgar Smith

Leamon Ray Smith, son of William Edgar Smith, born February 22, 1902; married Fleta Towery on March 8, 1923, in Evansville, Indiana.  They had no children.

Leamon is about six feet tall; he has blue eyes and dark hair.  He always had an extreme distaste for farm life and as soon as he finished the eighth grade went to Evansville, Indiana, where he was employed by several manufacturing plants.  For a number of years he was die setter for the Faultless Caster Company in Evansville.  He had great mechanical skill and always did thorough and painstaking work.  In the years immediately before his retirement, he operated a small business of his own and had, himself, constructed for sale two houses on property he purchased, about five miles from Evansville and on which his own home was located.  He had not been retired very long when he suffered a stroke, which has since curtailed his activities.
