Martha V. Smith, daughter of Elias Guess Smith

Martha V. Smith, daughter of Elias Guess Smith,  born May 10, 1805, married Nute Hunley on July 28, 1825, in Muhlenberg County.  Nute Hunley must have died before 1850 as the census for that year shows Martha as head of the household.  She was listed as a "farmer" with personal property valued at $300; born in Kentucky.  Children at home in 1850 were:

Elias, age 24            

Hannah, age 22

Sarah, age 18
