Roy Edgar Smith, son of Roy Baker Smith, born June 10, 1931, in Carbon Hill, Alabama;
married Florella Maddux on September 9, 1953. They are the parents of:
Gregory Dale Smith; born August 30, 1954, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Steve Loyd Smith; born August 3, 1956, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Terry Bruce Smith; born March 1, 1958, in Gadsden, Alabama.
Dennis Dean Smith; born May 1959, in Gadsden, Alabama.
Paula Diane Smith; born December 31, 1964, in Gadsden, Alabama.
Roy Ed is a
fine-looking, blond, blue-eyed man, well over six feet in height. He is thoughtful and studious by nature. While in college, he took part in ROTC training and a few months after his graduation
from college, in June 1953, was called into service as an officer in the Army. He was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
He and his family presently live in
Gadsden, Alabama, and he is sales representative for a textile manufacturer and
has two fabric outlets himself. Florella is a very
attractive, blonde young woman. She is
from a large family of children; attended
college; and is a good wife and mother.
